"home is not a place [clar's bedroom]"
On view from April 26th to May 3rd, 2026 in the basement under the stairs @ Green Hall, Yale University
My exhibit builds a digital and physical “garden”. It resembles my studio in the same way that my studio also resembles my dorm room -- recreating something that feels lived-in, nostalgic, and familiar -- almost, domestic. My work reflects a life shaped by movement, distance, and an evolving sense of home. I embrace maximalism, accumulating memories, objects, conversations, and traces of people across the world. I am a person who very much enjoys collecting, with each piece carrying a story with a lot of energy. Resisting the exclusivity and preciousness of traditional art spaces, I invite audience participation and contribution. To me, art is not a fixed object to be sheltered behind a glass case, but an ongoing experience of collective gathering.
